dwt-Zelte Niesky GmbH is located in the middle of Oberlausitz in Niesky in East Saxony. We develop, design and produce dwt awnings on a site measuring 10,000 square metres.
With a total of 70 German employees the company is a model training company in the sector and works successfully and exclusively with skilled workers.

From the drawing board to the campsite – a look behind the scenes.

Development / Design

We traditionally create our designs on the drawing board. Then the parts are entered in a CAD system which calculates the precise cuts optimised to suit the fabric widths.

Cutting material and parts

A computer-controlled cutter cuts the various parts using a vacuum to produce absolutely clean cuts. Depending on the material, the machine can cut up to 60 layers in one cycle.

Initial finishing

The various parts for each model and size are fitted with eyelets, zip fasteners and other accessories.

Sewing shop / Finishing

The workers produce complete components (side and front walls) and thus have expertise for the entire process regardless of whether it is a standard model or a bespoke mode.

Final production work

Individual parts are joined – known in trade circles as the “marriage”. Then they undergo the final inspection. At the end the finished awning has all the accessories, such as curtains and guy ropes, exactly as it is supplied to you.

Quality controls

10 percent of the awnings are removed from the production process every day and checked to ensure that they are precisely the right size and have all the requisite production details.
